Magic Carpet – Explore Qatar is a first-of-its-kind immersive educational experience designed for school programs. It takes students on animated journeys through Qatar’s cultural and environmental history, blending storytelling, interactive learning, and real-time physical effects in a captivating VR environment. As Lead Development Engineer, I architected and implemented the interactive system, collaborated closely with the hardware team, and led technical coordination across content, design, and integration to bring the experience to life.

Core Responsibilities & Technical Highlights:

🎬 Timeline Programming & Animation Sync

Developed and synchronized multiple Unity Timelines for orchestrating animations, audio cues, visual transitions, and user interactions, ensuring a cohesive and cinematic learning experience.

🕹️ Interactive Experiences

“Find the Pearl” Mini-Game: Designed and developed an interactive pearl-diving simulation where students search for hidden pearls in oysters.

Animated Questions: Implemented clickable animated question prompts that engage learners with story-based choices.

Scene-Based Triggers: Built trigger-based logic that responds to user movement and choices, activating voiceovers, animations, and environmental effects in real time.

⚙️ Hardware Integration & Collaboration

Worked directly with the hardware team to ensure flawless communication between Unity and the physical simulation systems.

Motion Platform: Engineered real-time synchronization between Unity and the ride platform to reflect virtual movement physically.

Wind Simulator: Integrated Unity with the wind simulator to produce dynamic wind bursts matching in-game moments such as sandstorms or deep-sea scenes.

Designed and implemented custom particle systems to bring environments to life like magical transitions, and glowing artifacts.

Delivered the experience in both Arabic and English, ensuring inclusivity for local and international audiences.
